Animal cruelty
All around the world different animals, domesticated and wild animals, experiences abuse and neglect. Animal cruelty takes on many different forms such as: animal hoarding, animal testing, industrial animal agriculture farms , active abuse of any kind like, intentional physically harming them and forcing cockfighting, and dog fighting. In every part of the world there are animals who are being neglected, starved, beaten, and not well taken care. There are people who look the other way when they encounter an animal who is being neglected in anyway. Animal abuse of any sort should never be taken lightly or ignore, as the animals too feel fear, pain, desperation and sorrow.
Animal cruelty is such a huge issue, that isn’t talked about enough. Whether it be because people aren’t aware of the different forms of abuse or because they may think that they are just one person, what difference would it make? Imagine how many other people think that exact thing. Calling and reporting any signs of neglect and abuse you see, is a small step towards helping those animals in need. Being aware of the different forms of abuse Despite you being, just one person, you speaking on behalf of the helpless, voiceless animals may make a big impact on not just the animals, but it can encourage others who aren’t aware , to inform themselves and possibly help make a change.
Animal cruelty has been an ongoing issue for a very long. Some action has been taken to express the severity of this issue. For example, recently the senates passed a law that makes animal cruelty and abuse a federal felony. I think this is a good step towards showing those who aren’t aware of just how severe the consequence to animal abuse is.
There are many people who don’t believe animal cruelty is as big as an issue as it really is. Some people may not think that animals too have rights. Domesticated pets have the right to be in a safe, loving home where they receive all their needs and love. Wild animals have the right too live freely amongst their environment. Often there are people who feel entitled to use and treat animals in any way they see fit, usually profit gain and simply for entertainment.
Industrial farmers keep the animals in absolutely terrible conditions. They are placed into cages that are far too small for some of their bodies, or multiple animals are kept together with little to no room to move around, then they get slaughter for the either their meats, eggs and dairy. Perhaps there isn’t any way to around the slaughtering of the animals, reducing your consumption of meat can decrease the amount of the animals from being slaughtered. Exposing the horrible suffering that the animals in those farms have to endure their entire life can bring awareness to their suffering. With the knowledge of the cruelty the industrial farms bring to the animals , can hopefully persuade people to maybe decrease their consumptions of the products these animals produce.
